TTUSD Conservation Story

Implemented in 2008, Tahoe Truckee Unified School District's Sustainability and Energy Conservation Program has been actively saving General Fund dollars and reducing CO2 emissions.

• Together we have saved up to $400,000 annually in electricity and gas alone.
• Recycling and waste reduction efforts save the District another $50,000 per year.

The program is continually expanding -- waste diversion, water, purchasing, green cleaning techniques, high-efficiency hand dryers replacing paper towels, and more to come.
